SNOW REMOVAL & ICE MANAGEMENT

Reliable Winter Service for Effingham and Fayette County
When snow and ice arrive, you shouldn't have to dig out your driveway or worry about a slick walkway. Arrow Valley Landscaping provides snow plowing and ice treatment for homes and businesses across the area, so your property stays safe, accessible, and ready for your day.

Snow Removal & Plowing

We clear your driveway, front sidewalks, and the side walkways leading to your trash bins, then push the snow into piles away from dumpsters, roadways, access points, and your main parking area. If the piles start to take over your property, we can haul the snow away for an additional fee.

Salting & Ice Treatment

We recommend salting shortly before a storm arrives and again after the snow has been plowed, so ice doesn't get a chance to bond to your surfaces. We can also treat ice when there's no snow at all, such as ahead of freezing rain. Salting is a separate service from plowing, but we suggest booking both for the same visit.

Walkways & Entrances

Sidewalks, steps, and entrances are handled according to your quote, which clearly lists every area we'll plow and salt. You'll know exactly what's covered before the season begins.

Snow Removal & Plowing

  • What we clear: We clear all the main walking and driving areas of your property, including;
    - Driveways
    - Front sidewalks and walkways
    - Side-of-house sidewalks leading to trash and recycling bins
    - Your written quote lists the exact areas included, so you know what to expect before the first snowfall.

  • Where the snow goes: We push snow into piles out of the way. We keep piles clear of dumpsters, roadways, access points, and your main parking area, so cleared space stays usable and visibility stays good at entrances and exits.

  • Snow hauling: If snowfall is heavy enough that piles start to crowd your property, we can haul the snow away. Hauling is available for an additional fee, and we'll talk it over with you before it becomes necessary.

Salting & Ice Treatment

  • Clearing snow is only half the job. Ice is what causes most slips and falls. We recommend a two-step approach:
    1. Pre-treat before the storm. We apply salt shortly before the snow arrives, which helps keep ice from bonding to the pavement.
    2. Salt again after plowing. Once the snow has been cleared, a second application treats any remaining slick spots.

  • Ice treatment doesn't require snowfall. We can treat your surfaces when freezing rain is in the forecast, and we often pre-treat ahead of it. Freezing rain can make a driveway or entrance dangerous with no snow on the ground.

  • Salting is a separate service from plowing. We highly recommend scheduling both together on the same visit for the best protection.

Walkways & Entrances

  • Every property is different, so we spell it out. Your quote clearly states which areas will be plowed and which will be salted, including sidewalks, steps, and entrances. You'll know what's covered before you sign anything.

FAQ's

  • What areas and property types do you serve?: We provide snow and ice services for all property types, including residential homes, commercial properties, and business lots. Our service area includes Brownstown, Effingham, Altamont, Greenville, Shumway, Teutopolis, and Vandalia.

  • How much snowfall triggers a service visit?: Our typical plowing trigger is 2 inches of snowfall. Salting can be done whenever freezing rain is in the forecast, even if no snow is expected.

  • When will my property be cleared?: We schedule around your day. Together we'll agree on a target time, and we'll have your property cleared by then.
    - Businesses: If you need to be open by 6 a.m., we'll have your lot and walkways clear before then.
    - Homeowners: If you don't leave for work until 8 a.m., we can schedule closer to 7 a.m.

  • Do you offer seasonal contracts or one-time service?: We offer both:
    - Seasonal contracts give you peace of mind all winter. You're on our schedule and don't need to call each time it snows.
    - One-time service is available if you only need help with a particular storm.

  • Can you treat ice when there is no snowfall?: Absolutely. We often pre-treat before freezing rain.

  • What affects the price of winter services?: Every property is quoted individually. The main factors are:
    - Site access: how easily our equipment can reach and move around your property
    - Sidewalk length: the amount of walkway to be cleared and treated

  • Where will snow be piled on my property?: Out of the way of dumpsters, roadways, access points, and your main parking area.

  • Is salting included with snow plowing?: Salting is a separate service, but we strongly recommend booking both together.
